Student of the Week: Our special student this week is Jocelyn Castro!  Some of Jocelyn’s favorites are kittens, the color pink, tacos (yum!), bike racing, and playing outside!  Her hero is her dad, and she aspires to be a dentist when she grows up.  Jocelyn is an aunt.  Her niece’s name is Nevaeh.

Reading: All about magic e for unit 3!  See attached for our spelling words and etc.  We are also focusing on soft c that says /s/ and soft g that says /j/.

In your child’s reading folder you will see a reading log.  Please fill in the book title, date, and your initials for each book your child brings home to read EVERY NIGHT YOU CAN!  They will be rewarded every 25 books read.  They will still have the monthly calendar in their reading folder to color their day.  We have only had about 5 out of 18 students reading at night.  It will greatly help them if they are reading both at school and at home.  I understand that life happens and you can’t always listen to your child read.  They may read to anyone, even the house pet!  And 3 or 4 days is better than one.  It is only one book a day, and they should be bringing home the book each day.  If your child is on a higher reading level they may read one chapter or part of the book; whichever you see fit.  Thank you VERY much for helping your child be a successful reader! J

100’s Day!
