Other Points of Interest:

There will NOT be a PTO Holiday Craft Market in McBain this year, due to the construction; it will return as usual in 2016!

There will NOT be an elementary Christmas program this year, due to the construction.  The plan is to have a spring program; more details as the date approaches.

If you need to make a change to your child’s plans for the end of the day, please call the school before 2pm so that there is time to get the message to your child.  We can only assure emergency notes get to your child after that time.

All VISITORS/VOLUNTEERS must check in at the office and pick up a visitor or volunteer tag before proceeding into the hallway or classroom. This includes first thing in the morning.

Thanks to those parents that are following the Pick-Up/Drop-Off Procedure. Pickup at the end of the day is in theelementary cafeteria, not the office, not the classroom, not the hallway, not the playground. We appreciate your cooperation!

During Parent-Teacher Conferences on Thursday, November 19th, the items in Lost & Found will be displayed in the hallway.  Please take a moment to look through them to see if any items belong to your child.  Anything left after conferences will be donated to a local charity.

A big thank-you to all those that sent in money for our annual “Coins for Kids” collection for World Hunger Relief. With your help, we were able to donate $2,131.69!

When taking pictures of your child during events or classroom activities, please keep in mind that there may be other children in the picture as well, and some parents prefer that their child’s picture not be posted on Facebook or other media.

The PTO wants to remind everyone to keep clipping and sending in labels.  There has been a good response so far this school year, so keep it up!

If you haven't heard the news, we have hired a new first grade teacher to help us with our large class sizes. His name is Mr. Wissner! He is going to be a great addition to our staff. I honestly felt a weight lifted off once we interviewed him. He is such a wonderful person! He will be shadowing in our classrooms the week of November 9th. He will start with his new class on the 16th. We will sadly have to say good by to 5 of our friends in our classroom. The office is still making calls to parents about switching. If you happen to be called and agree that your child will go, I just want to say thank you for sharing your child with me for the past 2 months. I have fallen in love with them and am going to be super sad to see them go. I also want to say thank you for being flexible and trusting that the change will be great! After meeting Mr. Wissner, I can assure you that they will love him!
