PROGRESS REPORTS:
These
went home last Friday. Please note, I do
not check “consistently high performance” at this point in the year because I
don’t feel we have not been in school quite long enough yet. So please don’t feel that your child isn’t
doing great!
SIGHT WORDS:
You
may see a sight word paper in your child’s reading folder. Feel free to have your child practice these
words whenever you have a chance. I try
to test them monthly, if not, weekly.
CLASS DOJO COUPONS:
You
may have seen paper coupons come home in your child’s reading folder. If their name was on the back of a coupon
they earned it! The coupon is for one
day. J
GEERS PUMPKIN PATCH:
October
22nd is our Geers Pumpkin Patch field trip. We will be going there from 9:00-11:00 that
morning. A note went home last week. (Let me know if you do not have one) Please
sign and return the note with $4.00 and your name with $4.00 for yourself if
you are choosing to chaperone the field trip.
If you choose to chaperone you will have other children in your group on
the field trip…just FYI. J
HALLOWEEN FUN:
An
official note will be sent home soon, but the day is normal in the morning
(please DO NOT send your child to school in their costume). After lunch they may all change into an
costume (no weapons). We will have a
parade, visit the 4th grade Wax Museums, and then head back to the
classroom for snacks and a Halloween movie.
STUDENT OF THE WEEK:
Our
special student this week is David Ferris.
David just celebrated his 7th birthday this month. He has a twin sister Ellie and 6 other
siblings! David loves monster trucks,
guns, and mud puddles. His favorite food
is ravioli and book is Batman. He hopes
to learn to read and tie his shoes this year!
SPELLING WORDS:
I was asked what the
HF words are. This stands for High
Frequency Words. It’s just another name
for sight words.
The spelling homework
is not due until next Thursday, the 22nd! We will have our test on that Friday.
