once a month newsletter! There’s too
much to say, I can’t! J However,
some newsletters may be shorter than others…FYI.
RAZ-KIDS: We
have an amazing reading program that we are using here at school on the
ipads. You are welcome to use this at
home as well. It is www.raz-kids.com You should be able to register under the
parent tab. Then you may find your
child’s name. If you need their password
(if they forgot it), just let me know!
Let me know if you have any trouble!
CLASS STORE:
The children are going to begin earning pretend money in the
classroom. They will earn a penny for
reading at night and a penny for doing their Math home links. They will also earn and owe money for good or
poor behavior. They will be earning this
money to visit our class store. This will
hopefully be done weekly depending on how many donations we receive. We would love any small toys from home that
you wish to donate or individually wrapped candy or any dollar store
items. School supplies are always fun
too!
HALLOWEEN COLORING CONTEST: In your child’s mail today was a coloring
sheet from Holton’s Gas Co. If you wish
to participate, all info is on the sheet and you can mail it to Holton’s Gas! J

What We’re Learning
READING: The children have been making sure to study the
cover of their books and then try to read the titles. They have then been taking picture walks
before they begin reading. This gets
their minds ready to read the story.
They are also encouraged to reread their books many times! J
WORD STUDY:
Last week we were studying short o; the –op, -og, and –ot word families. This week we will work on the –en, -eg, and
–et word families. This week’s sight words are: one, two, three, we, what, get
WRITING: The
children have been trying really hard to tell stories across their
fingers. Thumb=who and where, middles=
1,2,3 events, and pinky=wrap up the ending.
Most of them are really good at writing the who and where and one event;
they are encouraged to add more and an ending!
MATH: The children have really been loving Math
time! We have been practicing counting
forward and backward on the hundreds chart and number line. This week the penny will be introduced. However, we have been talking about the coins
everyday at calendar time!
Student of the Week
Student of the Week: Our special student this week is Maisie
Eling! Maisie loves spending time with
her family. She loves art and Math and
going to school, yay! She loves macaroni and cheese. Maisie wants to continue spending time with
her family when she grows up! J
